So cheap, so delicious. The hummus and the falafel are top quality & just so yummy. You also get so full for under £5, amazing. Will definitely go back when I'm in the area!
As takeaway lunches go, I'm just going to give this here a 5. Mostly because: 1. The falafel: Their falafel is out of this world. Falafel can be very much a hit or miss but here it's shockingly crispy on the outside (think fried chicken) and crumbly on the inside. 2. Value: I think it's good value for money. For 5.40 a pita, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more filling, yet healthy, veggie lunch. Basically any sandwich/snack or wrap/drink combo in Pret will take you over that. 3. The food: The 3-4 types of salad they dexterously stuff into your pita are fresh and alternate between crunch cabbage based and grainy/herby couscous based making for amusing texture changes. Also they add spicy yellow peppers and some chilli oil for that extra kick to take it over the edge. 4. Staff/Speed: The queue is always sizeable and a good sign of quality. The staff miraculously process each customer quickly and efficiently while still maintaining a really friendly attitude. Not an easy feat at lunch time. They also sometimes give you a free little falafel to nibble on if you get there early-ish and they are still arranging things. Guess they figure the early birds are extra peckish. How thoughtful. 5. The extras: I also like the array of Israeli snacks, drinks, and sweets available on the side. And their loyalty card. My favourite is the Mediterranean Falafel in a brown pita which features aubergine but you can also have the same with feta or with guacamole. Yes...guac and hummous and falafel, oh my! If you aren't into the carb thing, opt for a deconstructed version in a clear plastic bowl. Definitely my favorite takeaway lunch in the area.
Tiny place (so small the door has to be physically removed to allow space for the inevitable queue). Delicious food- falafel and salad, served either as a salad box or in a pita ( white or brown). Otherwise your choices here are pretty limited. Pitas are not desperately expensive ( £5.40 or so), but if you add a drink and a snack, it all adds up , and you'll end up spending £10.
Had a great hummus bowl. Loaded full of lots of tasty and fresh veggie tidbits. There could have been a little more actual hummus though. There serving in its entirety was very generous and I couldn't even finish the pita I opted to have with it. Great place for a quick lunch takeaway.
Quick, easy, fast, affordable, and nutritious lunch. Came by and grabbed a falafel in pita. The pita was thoroughly packed with falafel and other stuffings that the bottom of my pita broke. Very filling lunch for one. I do wish they had some sort of hot sauce to go with it.... That would take the pita over the top!
